iPod Classic 6th generation
The iPod Classic: one of the last machines built to do a single thing well.

Our story

It all started with collecting: we gather and keep alive Apple and Samsung devices — and above all iPods, the ones with the click wheel, the ones that filled up with music. A few years ago we took the next step, from collecting to modding: opening, cleaning, repairing and upgrading Classic iPods, swapping mechanical drives for solid-state memory, fitting new higher-capacity batteries, renewing housings, click wheels and colours.

To date we have had our hands on more than 500 Classic iPods: every job has taught us something and made us faster and more reliable.

Why the iPod Classic

Because it is one of the last machines built to do one thing and do it well: play music, offline, no notifications, thousands of songs in your pocket. With a few new parts it can last another decade — and we like the idea of keeping alive things that were made to last.

Ecology, reuse and disconnecting

Repairing and upgrading instead of replacing is a concrete choice: every iPod that works again is a device that does not become waste. Reuse is at the heart of our work — fewer replacements, more useful life for objects that were already well built.

Then there is disconnecting: in an always-online world, the iPod remains one of the few tools designed for offline listening — music, no notifications, no screens asking for attention. Being able to truly switch off, with something that actually works, is part of why we do this work.

How we work

  1. Written quote: every request becomes a quote by email with price, timing and shipping — before any work and with no commitment.
  2. Documented work: every job is documented with before-and-after photos.
  3. Warranty: new parts and our work carry the European legal warranty (Warranty).
  4. Tracked shipping: we ship across the European Union, with the risk of loss or damage on us until delivery.

Not just iPods

Nintendo Game Boy, 1989
The Game Boy: another object worth keeping switched on.

We’re also into Game Boys and handheld game consoles: we collect them, take them apart, study them. In the future we’ll consider offering modding and repair services for Game Boys too. If that’s something you’d be interested in, get in touch — knowing there’s demand helps us decide.

info@saveyouripod.com: we usually reply within 48 hours. Start from Repairs and upgrades, the custom iPod configurator or the Contact page.
